British American Tobacco Zimbabwe - Mirirai Washaya

Ms. Mirirai Apolonia Washaya is a seasoned Company Secretary with vast experience in Legal, Corporate Governance, Compliance, Leadership and AML/CFT matters.

She holds a Bachelor of Laws Honours degree from the University of Zimbabwe and a Master’s in Business Leadership degree from the University of South Africa. She is a certified AML/CFT specialist and a certified Professional Director. Internationally, Mirirai is a GC Powerlister having been featured on the GC Powerlist for two consecutive years, in 2017 and 2018, in recognition of her professionalism and commitment to excellence in her career. In addition, she has been awarded various professional awards in Zimbabwe. Mirirai is passionate about corporate governance and board effectiveness and to that effect she facilitates corporate governance training of boards and directors and imparts company secretarial practice and knowledge to governance professionals as well as conducting board evaluations for boards of directors.

Mirirai has worked with various organisations which include Lafarge Cement Zimbabwe Limited, Stanbic Bank Zimbabwe Limited and African Bank Corporation of Zimbabwe Limited (BancABC) amongst others.
